費城藝術大學（University of the Arts，縮寫：UArts）成立于1870年代，位于美國賓夕法尼亞州費城，其校區(qū)是構成費城中心城區(qū)藝術大道的重要部分，是一所視覺表演藝術大學，也是美國最古老的藝術音樂類院校之一。

學校歷史

• 1870年，費城音樂學會（Philadelphia Musical Academy）成立

• 1877年，費城音樂學院成立（Philadelphia Conservatory of Music）

• 1944年，兒童舞蹈學院（Children's Dance Theatre）后被稱作費城舞蹈學會（Philadelphia Dance Academy）

• 1962年，音樂學院和音樂學會合并，1976年，又與舞蹈學院合并，并重命名為費城表演藝術學院（Philadelphia College of the Performing Arts），1983年，又成立了戲劇學校，使其成為費城第一間開設音樂、舞蹈和戲劇專業(yè)的表演藝術學院。如今，費城表演藝術學院成為費城藝術大學下設學院之一

• 1876年，賓夕法尼亞工業(yè)藝術博物館和學校（Pennsylvania Museum and School of Industrial Art）成立，作為一間博物館和藝術學校

• 1938年，博物館重命名為費城藝術博物館（Philadelphia Museum of Art），學校成為費城工業(yè)藝術博物館學校（Philadelphia Museum School of Industrial Art）

• 1964年，學校成立了獨立的博物館，因此被重命名為費城藝術學院（Philadelphia College of Art）

• 1985年，費城藝術學院和費城表演藝術學院合并成為費城藝術學院（Philadelphia Colleges of the Arts），并在1987年獲得大學資格

• 1996年，費城藝術大學增設了第三個學部，即媒體與傳播學院（College of Media and Communication），但于2011年，與藝術設計學院合并，成為藝術、媒體與設計學院（College of Art, Media & Design）

學生評價

Health & Safety: It's hard for the administration to be in charge of safety throughout the campus, seeing as though our campus is center city Philadelphia. They try their hardest to have plans, advice and guards to protect students while walking around the city, but it is not a regular college campus. I have to cross S. Broad Street multiple times a day to get to different campus buildings.

Overall Experience: Huge variety of courses in the Arts!! The teachers are all hardworking and care about the students at the school. I feel like i have learned so so so much in just a year. The upperclassmen are inspirational and talented. I look up to the staff and the upperclassmen and the talented people in my class as well. My experience here has been beyond amazing. This is the school I was meant to be at and I wouldn't change my decision for anything.

Campus Housing: Me and my roommate had a great experience in our room. It has plenty of space, kitchen bathroom and enormous storage space (closet drawers desks, ect.)

Overall Experience: The career prospects at Uarts are one of my favorite qualities about the school. I am an acting major and I love that I am trained to do so many different aspects of my craft other than performing. The work study program allows students to work the box office, usher for shows, participate in office work, etc. Also, in the acting department you can study other areas such as tech crew, lighting, sound, etc. There is so much to be trained in that I feel that if I wanted different jobs outside of acting, I will have enough experience to do so.

Campus Housing: Don't live on campus if you can help it, hate the obligatory meal plan and the RA's take their job too seriously, and i say this as someone who lived on campus for two years.

Academics: There are very little choices for classes, students don't care about the liberal arts classes.

Drug Safety: Because most students live off campus, it's easy to partake in drug use before or after class and go to class under the influence.

Health & Safety: The University of the arts is a Philadelphia college. Philadelphia is one of the most dangerous cites on the east coast so you do have to be a little cautious especially walking where very few people go or alone at night. I always make sure my phone is on and charged, walking with a group, and have my on hand to use as a weapon for protection. My residence hall has security cameras or every floor and has an electronic door so only students can get in. There have been a few incidents since i came here but don't feel threatened or unsafe in the least. Philly is pretty awesome if you get to know it.

• Academic Warning：此類學生必須在入學后的第一年保證GPA2.0以上；

• 學術成就項目（Academic Achievement Program，縮寫：AAP）：此項目僅限于賓州居民；

• 語言能力不足（English Language Proficiency）：國際學生在開學前未達到學校要求語言要求；

• ACCLAIM：針對音樂專業(yè)的申請者而言，有巨大的潛力，但需要額外的音樂訓練和準備，可參加此項目，全稱“音樂學院快捷培訓課程（Accelerated College Level Academic Instruction in Music）” ，完成此項目，即可換取無條件錄取；

• PREP：針對藝術專業(yè)的申請者而言，學生學業(yè)表現(xiàn)良好，而且對藝術有很強烈的興趣，但缺乏足夠的藝術培訓，未有遞交符合錄取要求的個人作品，此類學生可參加為期4周的“PREP”暑期項目，完成此項目，且取得B（相當于3.0）以上GPA可換取無條件錄取，僅限于本科新生，而且修完此項目中的工作室藝術課程，可獲得3學分

費城藝術大學要求遞交SAT/ACT成績。被錄取學生的SAT均分范圍為：SAT閱讀570-590，SAT數(shù)學450-570，SAT寫作450-580；ACT均分范圍為19-27
