貝勒學院是美國久負盛名的醫(yī)科大學，全美能夠在醫(yī)學院，治療部和生物研究三方面均進入前10%的機構僅有4家：貝勒醫(yī)學院、杜克大學、加州大學舊金山分校以及華盛頓大學。貝勒醫(yī)學院在基礎醫(yī)學方面的優(yōu)勢研究領域包括發(fā)育生物學、細胞生物學、心血管疾病以及干細胞研究等。

貝勒醫(yī)學院生物醫(yī)學院研究生院（Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences，縮寫GSBS）只開設有PhD項目，該校基礎醫(yī)學項目基本都集中于該學院，也是國際學生可以申請或者說主要申請的學院。
該研究生院PhD項目，要求申請者本科畢業(yè)，不限專業(yè)，但有一定的前置課程要求，包括：
